12/24/04 MERRY CHRISTMAS MUSIC LOVERS!
My Christmas gift came early when "Ham for the Holidays" made the TOP 10 LIST on BROADJAM.COM for the entire state of Massachusetts! I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
Live it up like a ROCK STAR ... Let someone else drive!

12/9 RAMONALISA IS BORN!
That's sort of what it feels like everytime you bring a song
to life. *smile* Today, the song "Ramonalisa" was born.
Up until now, she only lived inside me...

12/7 STEVIE JONES & BOB COLWELL POP!
Just finished recording "I Tricked Nick" at the
Root Cellar studio and had a blast! Stevie Jones put a twisted lead over Bob's surf pop interpretation of my fun fantasy tune. This won't be released until next Fall, but
YOU can hear it at Http://www.broadjam.com/lynnjulian

11/27 "Ham" is on DR. DEMENTO SHOW AGAIN!
I can NOT believe it ..."Ham" is airing nationally on the Dr. Demento show for a record breaking second week in a row! To every fan who requested it: THANK YOU!!!

11/21 "Ham" debuts on the DR. DEMENTO SHOW!
How psyched am I right now? This radio show is NATIONALLY SYNDICATED across the entire USA and must be heard by a million listeners! I'm SO thankful to Bob Colwell for helping to bring out my inner turkey and
to all my fans for requesting it online. YOU did this for me!

11/17 "SHE GOT THE HOUSE" & "DREAM GIRL"
I recorded 2 new songs at the "Root Cellar" in Hallowell, Me. today! Both are novelty songs for my 2nd CD, "World's Greatest Sister Mom!" Go to the MUSIC page and click on the BROADJAM LINK to hear the 1st rough demos! You'll also see a RARE FAN OPPORTUNITY inviting YOU to become part of this project. You can ADOPT A SONG or even get to be the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER for the CD!

11/9 NEW "BROKE THE MOLD!" FORUM
I started a new chat forum for all of YOU tell your tale of how you broke free from the raging masses! Well ...
What are you waiting for? Scroll down and get flappin'!

11/6 COPYRIGHT CONFUSION?
Did you know that you must REGISTER your SONGS, your SOUNG RECORDINGS and your CD INSERT SEPARATELY for COPYRIGHT? Did you know that you must REGISTER with ASCAP, BMI or SESAC TWICE if you publisher your own music? Once as the writer and once as the publisher. Did you know that you must REGISTER with SOUNDEXCHANGE TWICE if you own the copyright to your sound recordings? Once as the performer and once as the copyright owner of the recording. Most musicians don't. If you only registered once, you're LOSING OUT ON HALF YOUR ROYALTY MONEY. SO ... GO REGISTER TODAY!

11/04 COPYRIGHT CONCLUSION
It's been over a month now and I'm *finally* almost finished copyrighting my 25 songs for this year. I copyright one "collection" of songs each year for the same $30 some people pay to do just one!

11/03 Go To SoundExchange.com TODAY!
This is a new company that works in cooperation with ASCAP, BMI & SEASAC. They pay royalties to "performers" and "sound recording copyright holders." If you are BOTH of those things, then you MUST join twice. The same goes for ASCAP, etc. If you are a "writer" AND a "publisher," then you MUST join twice to collect for both!

11/01 12 FOOT TOMMY TURKEY!
I just adopted a 12 FOOT inflatable "Tommy" Turkey as the official mascot for "Ham For the Holidays!" We're going to drive him through parades and play my song. I only wish I'd gotten it recorded earlier, because it's too late to do a real media blitz now. I can just SEE him in the Macy's Day Parade next year though!

10/27 Novelty Song Season
I finished the 2 holiday songs today! Both are going on my dark humored CD: "World's Greatest Sister Mom!" (Yeah,
I *did* need a break from the serious world of pop music.)

10/25 I TRICKED NICK!
I recorded my first Christmas song today: "I Tricked Nick."
(Now ... if I could only sell it to Jessica Simpson!)
The engineer, Bob Colwell, co-produced it with me and
it became "surf-pop." I I think we were subconsciously influenced by the posthumous Beach Boys CD release, "Smile," sitting next to the mixing board, LOL. The song came to life as a catchy dance number I have high hopes for!

10/22 Ham Spam!
I'm rushing to get "Ham for the Holidays" to all the local radio stations in time for Thanksgiving ... Please REQUEST IT! (If I missed your radio station, simply send me an email and I'll mail you a CD or MP3!)

10/20 DAISY ROCK GUITARS ...Girl Power w/ Strings!
If you haven't seen these hotties yet, go to DaisyRock.com and check 'em out NOW! They are the cutest, smartest, hotest new gear to hit the market since personalized straps!
They have a guitar for your every mood, AND, they are SO AFFORDABLE that you CAN buy more than one!
(I realize that I sound like a saleperson, but I'm not. I've been a daisy fan since the first time I laid eyes on the original sunflower shape years ago. Ahead of my time, as usual ...)

10/18 My EPK is now on the PRESS PAGE!
I spent the morning filling out an Electronic Press Kit ...
Oh BOY! Now all my information is in on one page.
http://www.sonicbids.com/LynnJulian
Off to write ... Got the chords for 4 originals written last week and only 1 more to go before I print them out and taping them to send to Copyright.gov. They're the last of 25 songs for my "SONGS 2004" collection for this year!

10/15 NEW SITE FEATURES ADDED!
I'm SO proud of myself! (Can you tell?) I had "Digital Dan" come over and show me how to update the text on my 2 weeks ago. Since then, I've not only done that on every page, but I've added cool new features too! There's a "Tell a Friend" box, a "Link to My Site" box and a WEB RING coming soon too! This site has become my baby, as it needs CONSTANT ATTENTION. *smile*

10/13 Got Vocal Tracks Done for 2 Songs!
"Julian" and "I Feel You" officially have vocals now! I layered a high and low harmony on each one that I partially made up on the spot. In the words of the engineer, "That was some pretty freaky stuff you just did!" (I hope he meant that in a good way? *smile*) I'd like to think I was channeling Sarah McLaughlin ...

10/7 Back To The Grind!
I'm back working on the new CD this week. Got a few songs just about finished! I've got a day booked next week to do the vocals on the ballads. La La La La Laaaaaahhh!
(Wish me luck!)

10/2 HIP HOP HORAY!
I finished the "Turkey Song" yesterday! I think I may continue the comic song CD with the new studio and finish the Cookie Cutter Girl CD with my old studio. Too confusing? I hope not...
TRIPLE GIG WEEKEND ... I'm off!

9/29 TOMMY TURKEY FINDS HIS VOICE!
On a POSITIVE NOTE, I *did* get the vocal track done for my new comic song. I perform it in the voice of a pre-pubescent turkey, "Tommy," who's fighting with his friend, the young pig, over who should be Thanksgiving dinner. All done in good fun, ala "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." Don't you all think we need more FUN SONGS on the radio? Maybe I can get some copies to the troops and bring a smile to their faces for a moment too. *smile*

9 /28 Hello World!
I'm in a new studio and am *always* writing, recording, practicing or gigging! I feel completely detached from what others consider a "normal" life. Perhaps, I should think of myself as a bear... Then I would just be hibernating for the winter! Anyway, I miss my friends. I even miss hangin' out doin' nothin'. BUT... I AM *finally* making great progress on the CD! We're WAY behind schedule because of... well... LIFE HAPPENS! The last engineer's car died... His wife had a baby... The drummer went to college... 2 senior artists tied up the studio for a collective 6 months... My "Cookie Cutter Girl" CD was supposed to be released *last* Christmas, but it's always something, isn't it?!? Well, I'm in a new studio and back on track now. Pedal to the metal and rearin' to go! In fact, I'm off to the studio! (Hey..that rhymes..Once a songwriter, always a songwriter.)
